Abstract:

The paper is concerned with the life of the valves made from different composite materials used in crude petroleum extraction pump. The

main problem is the ability of the valves’ material to withstand erosioncorrosion wear due to the crude petroleum. The valves material WC-Co are recommended for crude petroleum extraction with high abrasive action and average corrosive environment and WC-Ni are recommended for crude petroleum extraction with densities 0.8 – 0.92 g/cm³ in high corrosion environment and constant abrasive action. For densities up to 0.8 g/cm3 it is recommended the ceramic balls (ASMC grade) and the seat from the system WC-Co and/or (WC-Ni), as function of the corrosion of the crude petroleum.
