Abstract:

The paper presents the corrosion behavior of copper and admiralty brass in cooling waters from fertilizer plants. Corrosion types and mechanisms of copper alloys, as well as corrosion inhibitors for industrial applications are also discussed. In chemically treated cooling water, even at relatively high ammonia concentrations, copper and admiralty brass evidence excellent corrosion resistance.
