Abstract:

Nearly one third of undertakings certified by the norms ISO 9000 are tacking part in a race against the clock for the so-called "total quality". This is not a fashion phenomenon but a response to a real need to search a new spur in this moment after the certifying. It's a necessity for the clients, who are more and more demanding, that the undertakings should direct their management towards improving their performance and their products in order to fully satisfy the needs of their customers. One client out of four is inquiring about how their point of view is appreciated and only in 50% of the cases their question is taken into consideration. The work presents a series of modern requirements of the quality systems, some considerations concerning the reviewed norms of ISO 9000 series 2000, some problems related to the cost of non-quality, and the influence of quality for an undoubtedly evolution towards the goals exposed in the title.
