Abstract: | To evaluate the significance of some well accepted methods in taxonomic evidence of botanically complicated taxa of medicinal plants, a number of populations of thyme species was studied in their morphological and anatomical traits, as well as in analyses in histo-chemistry, the main components of essential oils and molecular markers. Results confirmed a high variability in all tested characters, suggesting existence of morpho- and chemotypes. |
