Abstract: | In practice, all manufactured surfaces depart to some extent from absolute perfection. It has long been recognized that careful finishing of components can lead to longer life, improved efficiency, functional interchangeability and other benefits. This reflects throughout all fields of industry. Most stylus instruments involving electronic amplification are provided with at least one adjustable control for the amplification; often there are several. Calibration procedures must be suited to the features of the instrument being calibrated. |
