Abstract
The paper presents the results of a research about solidification of some parts of bar type, poured in cast iron and having a cross section of U form. The study was made by 2D simulation with computer software realized by authors. It was studied the influence of geometrical factors of part, specially the distance between parallel arms of the profile, on the solidification.
