Abstract
In part I of the study the theoretical models and hydraulics of fixed bed operations are presented. In part II the issues of scale-up and approximate design methods are presented. Part II could be considered as a presentation of the path from the laboratory scale to full scale units. Finally, the methods for derivation of the experimental data needed are discussed.
