INTELLIGENT INTERFACES USING FEATURE RECOGNITION IN MECHANICAL DESIGN

This work presents the concept of artificial intelligence, the methods used in the mechanical engineering area, analyses the impact that it had in applying those methods in different stages of the product development in classical processing systems and in intelligence processing systems. Automated feature recognition is an essential requirement for integrated design and manufacturing systems. Most of research is currently in progress because a product model has CAD/CAM models and other lifecycle data.
