A new Ca(II) coordination polymer has been obtained by reaction of Ca(ClO4)2·H2O with 3-amino-2-pyrazinecarboxylic acid in CH3CH2OH/H2O. It was characterized by IR, 1HNMR, thermal analysis and X-ray single crystal diffraction analysis. X-ray analysis reveals that each Ca(II) center is seven-coordination with a N2O5 distorted pentagonal bipyramidal coordination environment. The Ca(II) ions are linked through the O atoms of 3-amino-2-pyrazinecarboxylic acid ligands to form 1D chain structure. And then a 3D network structure is constructed by hydrogen bonds and Ï-Ï stacking. The antitumor activity of 3-amino-2-pyrazinecarboxylic acid ligand and its Ca(II) coordination polymer against human intestinal adenocarcinoma HCT-8 cells, lung adenocarcinoma HCT-116 cells and human lung adenocarcinoma A549 cells line have been investigated.
