The paper presents some modalities to estimate the necessary power for mixing in case of mechanical mixing devices. Some particularities regarding the mixing of Newtonian and nonnewtonian fluids are presented. In the end of the paper an example is given for estimating the necessary power for mixing in case of a standard centrifugal impeller mixer.
