Abstract
Phytoplankton samples have been taken and analysed during the Danube – JDS 2 expedition in order to make a characterization of the water quality.
A saprobic index has been calculated depending on the presence of bio-indicator species setting up that the ecological condition of the Danube river water was good.
The taxonomic structure of the phytoplankton consisted in several systematic groups.
