‘STUDII ȘI CERCETĂRI ȘTIINȚIFICE.BIOLOGIE-SCIENTIFIC STUDY AND RESEARCH. BIOLOGY’ is a scientific journal edited under the aegis of ‘Vasile Alecsandri’ University from Bacău, Faculty of Sciences, Department of Biology, Ecology and Environmental Protection, by the Alma Mater Publishing House from Bacău and it is issued by the Faculty of Sciences, Department of Biology, Ecology and Environmental Protection.

The journal was first issued in 1996 as an annual publication. Starting with 2007, due to the large number of articles and to the increasing advances of science, the journal started to appear biannualy.

The journal language is English (American or British usage is accepted, but not a mixture of these).

The main objective of our journal is to provide a forum for high quality articles from different fields of plant and animal Biology. It covers all areas of Biology, whether fundamental or applied, including: General Biology, Cellular and Molecular Biology, Genetics, Ecology, Microbiology, Anatomy, Morphology, Systematics, Taxonomy, Zoology, Physiology, Cytology, Histology, Embryology, Anthropology, Toxicology, Biotechnology, Agriculture, Horticulture, Human Medicine, Biochemistry and Biophysics.

The journal ‘Scientific Study and Research. Biology’ accepts for publication three types of articles:

• General articles (maximum 8 pages) to underline the important areas of Biology.
• Research focus articles (at least 4-6 pages) to highlight new and emerging results obtained in the above mentioned Biology subjects.
• Review articles comprising valuable original data.

The Editorial Advisory Board reunites prestigious personalities in Biology and adjacent fields, both Romanian members and from abroad.

“Studii și Cercetări Științifice. Biologie“(“Scientific Study and Research. Biology“) is a semi-annual journal with two issues published in March and May. It publishes original articles from different fields of biology: Molecular Biology, Cytology, Cytogenetics, Morphology, Microbiology, Physiology, Genetics, Phytopathology, Ecology and Systematics. The journal contents are completed with other sections such as:

1. Scientific/academic life which offers a presentation of the most important scientific manifestations related to the field of biology (congresses, symposia, workshops etc.)
2. Reviews which comprise evaluations of the most recent publications in our country and abroad.

 
Conditions for paper submission:
Authors are invited to submit their articles, notes and reviews (maximum 30 pages in length) in English, in electronic format.

1. Page set up will be A4 (21x29.7 cm), with the margins: top 2.5 cm, bottom 2.5 cm, inside 2.5, outside 2.5 cm, mirror margins;
2. the papers will be in Microsoft Word format, font Times New Roman, size 10, space at 1 row;
3. the paper must contain:

TITLE - size 12, bold, center, caps lock, line spacing: single (leave five empty rows before the title);
AUTHORS- size 11 bold and italic, center (name and surname);
key words at single spacing – bold and italic, size 10.

At one line, the text will contain: INTRODUCTION, MATERIAL AND METHOD, RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS, CONCLUSIONS, ABSTRACT of maximum half a column, REFERENCES: authors, year, journal/ review or book’s title, publishing house, pages and author’s address.

1. The tables will be edited with the same format, TNR, size 8;
2. Graphics and photographs will be coloured in the original and will be included in the manuscript.

The references will be arranged in alphabetical order:

The author’s address will be in English and it is recommended to contain the e-mail address.

IMPORTANT

Please send/bring your manuscript for Issue 1 until the end of April and for Issue 2 until the end September at the address scsb.journal@ub.ro.

Our journal has a scientific board formed of reviewers who are specialists from our country and from abroad.

Paper acceptance confirmation and potential suggestions will be made by e-mail within one month since its being received.

Review Process

The papers will be reviewed by at least two reviewers. Each of them will prepare a report with considerations regarding the scientific and innovation degree. The papers that will be considered by the reviewers as “accepted for publication” will be scheduled for publication. If there are some modifications that have to be done, the articles will be sent to authors for correction. After the indicated modifications will be accomplished (according with the reviewers’suggestions), the articles will be included in our journal.

Only the articles that have a scientific content relevant for the issueand respect the authors’ guidelines (to be found on the journalwebsite) and deadlines will be published.

Series Biology are written with ethical standards in mind, concerning plagiarism. Please note that all submissions are thoroughly checked for plagiarism. If an attempt at plagiarism is found in a published paper, the authors will be asked to issue a written apology to the authors of the original material, and the paper will be removed from the journal database. Any paper which shows obvious signs of plagiarism will be automatically rejected. The authors will receive proper notification if such a situation arises.

There is no limit to the length of the papers submitted. However, in certain cases and after consulting the author(s), either shortening of the text may be requested. Manuscript should be sent to the Edithor or Secretar of the journal. After publication, first author will receive article(s) electronically to the mail address and PDF-file.

The “Instructions for Authors” should be followed exactly. An editorial committee will referee all papers, its decision is final, and will be communicated to the author(s) as quickly as possible. Paper not conforming to the present instructions will be rejected.
