Script Stage Directions in the Plays of Ioan Slavici: Function and Innovation

Slavici's literary work, less known for his dramatic writings, has played, nevertheless, a special role in Romanian dramaturgy that marks the beginning of the modern era in theater. The script stage directions used by him in comedies, tragedies and dramas bring a distinct hue through their function of creating the impression of truthfulness, authenticity using some slightly innovative elements in this field.
