The “new” comparative literature: challenges, solutions, polemics

Since its beginnings, comparative literature has a bias toward innovation as well as toward institutional and ideological challenges. Particularly new media technologies involve a change of cultural paradigms, literary production and reception being no exception. In the new media era, literature often implies inter- or transmedial rewriting which leads to redefining the aims and objectives of comparative literature itself.
