Instructions for Authors

MANUSCRIPT GUIDELINES

SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPTS

The manuscript should conform to the following norms:

  • The papers on electronic format B5 (minimum 10 pages) shall be sent to the following address: morarasu.nadia@ub.ro and cpjournal@ub.ro
  • Cultural Perspectives. Journal for Literary and British Cultural Studies in Romania is issued annually, in December. The manuscripts for issue 28/2023 with the theme Bridging Cultural Gaps and Adapting to Change should be sent by June 15, 2023.
  • The papers shall be written in English, format B5, font Book Antiqua, size 11, one line after the keywords, single line spacing, justify, Page setup: Header: 3,5 cm; Footer: 3,5 cm; Top, Bottom (4,5 cm); Left, Right (3 cm).
  • The paper title shall be written on the fourth line under the header/page top. The paper title shall be written in title case, centred, bold.
  • Author’s name shall be written in bold 1 line under the title. On the next line the affiliation (“University of…”) shall be written (in bold), and on the next line after the affiliation the country of the author shall be written (in bold), aligned to the right. If there are more authors no line shall be left between their names. If the affiliation is the same it will be written once under both authors’ names; if the affiliations are different, they will be written under the names of each author.
  • Each paper shall have an abstract (maximum 250 words, Book Antiqua 10) written 1 line after the authors’ names. The word Abstract – written in bold, not indented followed on the next line by the body of the abstract, unbolded, indented. The abstract should include purpose, approach/methodology, research limitations, practical implications, findings/ empirical analysis, originality/creative value.
  • Each paper should have 5-7 keywords, size 10. The word Keywords in bold, justify, unindented; the actual keywords in italics, immediately after the word Keywords followed by “:”, single line spacing.
  • Manuscripts should be reasonably divided into sections, and where necessary, subsections, with numbered headings: 1, 2, 3, etc. (and/or 1, 1.1., 1.2. etc.) separated with 1 line from the body of the text with their title written in bold. The subsections will not be separated from the headings and from the body of the text and will be written in bold.
  • The charts and figures shall be saved as jpeg and the reference should be (Fig. 1).
  • The manuscript should include footnotes that contain supplementary explanations if necessary (and not bibliographival references; for references see below), Book Antiqua 10.
  • References may be cited in the text by giving the name of the author(s) and year of publication (in parentheses), and page number. For example: (Barry 1971: 231-232).
  • Quotations from the analyzed work or from other studies which are longer than 2 lines should be written with a line distance from the body of the article (above and below), indented once with no inverted commas, Book Antiqua 11.
  • The work should include Conclusions, one line spaced from the body of the text. The word Conclusions (without a section number), unindented. The actual conclusions on the next line.
  • The Bibliography should be presented after 1 line spaced the conclusions as follows:
    • The word Bibliography should be written with Book Antiqua 11. The bibliographical list shall be written with Book Antiqua 10 on the next line.

ETHICAL STATEMENT

Submission of a manuscript to CP Journal implies that the paper has not been published before (except in abstract form or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis), that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere and that its publication is approved by all authors and, tacitly or explicitly, by the responsible authorities where the research work was conducted. To acknowledge this, the corresponding author will submit to the technical editor the Declaration of authenticity completed and signed.

DECLARATION OF AUTHENTICITY

The author(s) are fully responsible for the quality of their contribution (with regard to content and layout). It is the responsibility of each author to ensure that papers submitted to Cultural Perspectives Journal are written with ethical standards in mind, concerning plagiarism. Please note that all submissions are thoroughly checked for plagiarism. If an attempt at plagiarism is found in a published paper, the authors will be asked to issue a written apology to the authors of the original material, and the paper will be removed from the journal database. Any paper which shows obvious signs of plagiarism will be automatically rejected. The authors will receive proper notification if such a situation arises.

The “Instructions for Authors” should also be followed exactly. The editorial committee will referee all papers to check that they conform to the editorial standards. The decision of accepting the paper will be communicated to the author(s) within two weeks from the moment of submission. Papers not conforming to the present instructions will be granted another week for coping with editorial standards. Unless this condition is met, the paper will be rejected and the authors notified about this decision.

During the process of double blind review, neither the reviewers nor the authors are in contact at any time. All communication is mediated by the subject editor who collects the review charts from each reviewer, together with the comments made directly on the manuscript (if that is the case). His/her role is to further submit these observations to the author with recommendations to make all necessary changes. After the reviewing process has been completed and the final form of the paper agreed upon by both authors and editorial board, all authors must sign the pre-publication agreement.

PRE-PUBLICATION AGREEMENT

After publication, each author will receive the article(s) electronically in PDF format to the mail address indicated. Depending on the funding obtained for the printed edition, authors might also receive one copy in this format (delivered to the postal address as indicated by each corresponding author).
