ELHAFNAOUI LANEZ(1,2), LAZHAR BECHKI(2), TOUHAMI LANEZ(1*)
In this paper we investigate the synthesis of N6,9-bis(ferrocenylmethyl)adenine starting from the well known quaternary salt (ferrocenylmethy)trimethylammonium iodide and adenine. The obtained compound was characterized by different analytical techniques like: cyclic voltammetry, electronic absorption FT-IR, and 1H NMR spectroscopy. The cyclic voltammogram shows well distinct, stable and reversible redox peaks for the couple ferrocenium-ferrocene in the studied potential range. The lower standard rate constant values of the N6,9-bis(ferrocenyl-methyl)adenine as compared to ferrocene further indicated slower electron transfer kinetics. UV-Vis measurements show three absorption bands attributed to the transitions n→π* and π→π* of aromatic ring and the imine group for N6,9-bis(ferrocenylmethyl)adenine derivative. Finally the energy of border molecular orbitals (EHOMO and ELUMO) of the optimized structure was calculated using DFT/B3LYP method combined with 6-31G basis set in acetonitrile.

The study presents the results of the qualitative analysis of innovative functional bread and crackers enriched with rucola puree in the context of a healthy diet and informational uncertainty of the consumer. Bread from whole grain flour and crackers with chickpeas and rice flour, enriched with 30 and 10 % rucola puree, have the best quality characteristic. The products are characterized by an average content of protein, fat and low total sugars. The fiber’s content is higher in crackers than in bread. The chemical and sensory characteristics of bread and crackers enriched with rucola puree determine their relevance to healthy diet in the prevention and treatment of major socially significant diseases. The industrial production and the market realization of innovative, functional foods are highly dependent on the phenomenon of information asymmetry between the producer and the consumer. Essential tool to overcome it is the introduction of minimum control standards for functional foods with which to expand their application in a healthy diet. The development of innovative functional foods by enriching bread and crackers with rucola puree is useful.

A study of the impact of pathogenic attack on vine varieties of Cabernet Sauvignon on the content of trans-resveratrol in wine was carried out. Some of the vines were attacked by two pathogens: Botrytis cinerea - a cause of "gray mold"; Phyllosticta ampelicida (asexual phase from Guignardia bidwellii) - the causer of "black rot". It was found that when Botrytis cinerea attacked the vines with high degree (93 %) and index (50.33) (variant V1), this reflected in lower levels of established trans-resveratrol in wine (3.23 mg∙dm-3), in compared to control pathogen-free V2 variant (3.74 mg∙dm-3). The same trend was observed in the attack of the other pathogen. Phyllosticta ampelicida (asexual phase from Guignardia bidwellii), even in low attack degree (10 %) (variant V4) and index (2.5), resulted in lower levels of trans-resveratrol in wine (2.34 mg∙dm-3), compared to control pathogen-free variant V3 (2.56 mg∙dm-3). The study found a lower content of trans-resveratrol in wine produced from grapes of organically grown vines compared to that of conventionally grown.

The problem of soil contamination with heavy metals over the past three decades is growing and is relevant not only in Ukraine, Europe, but throughout the world. The content of heavy metals in the soil increases and creates a risk to the environment and human health. To eliminate this problem, various technologies of soil recovery from ecotoxicants are used. In agricultural production, one way is to grow crops that are resistant to the adverse effects of heavy metals. This article presents the study results of heavy metals translocation in corn plants during the entire growing season. It was experimentally established that the most intensive accumulation occurred in the early period of growth and development of the culture and decreased until the maturation period. It is found that the corn grain of the hybrid Zdvizh MV in all variants corresponds to the standards of feed raw materials, and can be used for technical purposes.

In this work, we are interested in the synthesis of new N-glucosyl 1,4-benzothiazin-3-ones by grafting 5,6-anhydro-3-O-alkyl-1,2-O-isopropylidene-α-D-glucofuranoses onto (Z)-2-benzylidene-3,4-dihydro-2H-1,4-benzothiazin-3-one 1. Deprotection of compounds 3a-c was performed in the mixture CF3COOH-H2O (9/1: v/v) leading to the corresponding compounds 4a-c with good yields. The structures of the synthesized compounds have been characterized using 1H NMR and 13C NMR. Compounds 3a-c and 4a-c were subjected to the evaluation of antibacterial activity. Some compounds tested showed significant activity.

The dough fermentation process is a major step for obtaining good quality bread because the yeast cells, which release CO2, have a major influence on dough rheology, volume, texture and taste of final bread product. The fermentation speed of the dough is strongly influenced by the fermentative performance of the yeast and dough fermentation conditions. Therefore, this paper presents the dynamics of the yeast fermentation process prepared with three commercial types of dry yeast, namely: Pakmaya, Dr. Oetker, Rapunzel. It has been experimentally found that besides the dynamics of the fermentation process, there are also changes in the physico-chemical properties of the dough, but also of the bread obtained from the three types of dough.

The objective of this study is the valuation of a natural residue and its application for the removal of synthetic dye through the adsorption batch process. The determinations of the concentrations of dye have been performed using an UV–Vis spectrophotometer. The kinetics and thermodynamics of adsorption of Methylene blue by wheat straw were studied. Experimental data were analyzed by the Langmuir, Freundlich, and Temkin isotherms. The Langmuir isotherm showed that the maximum value of adsorption capacity was 85.47 mg∙g-1, and the coefficient of determination (R2) was 0.999. The experimental data fitted very well the pseudo-second-order kinetic model (R2= 0.998), also the intraparticle diffusion rate constants vary from 4.612 to 14.615 mg∙g-1∙min-1/2 for concentrations between 10 and 120 mg∙L-1, whereas diffusion is not the only rate-control step. The thermodynamic parameters were evaluated. The negative value of ΔH° (-13.850 kJ∙mol-1) indicated that the adsorption of Methylene blue on wheat straw was exothermic, the reaction was accompanied by a decrease in entropy (-0.255 J∙mol-1∙K-1). The Gibbs energy increased from -13.770 to -13.775 kJ∙mol-1. The studied system shows that the adsorption process is spontaneous.
STUDY REGARDING THE USE OF HYPOCALORIC - HYPOLIPIDEMIC AND HYPOGLUCIDIC DIET AND PHYSICAL EXERCISE TO DECREASE BODY MASS IN ADULTS OVER 50 YEARS OLD
RADU I. ABABEI(1*), CĂTĂLINA P. ABABEI(2), ADRIAN A. COTÎRLEȚ(2), MĂDĂLIN I. MIRON(3)
Today's society, with its fast pace and growing stress, leads to a complex motivation for the modern person's need for exercise. For the middle age adults (50-60 years old), the stimulation of their metabolism through physical effort has become a habit imposed also by changes in their lifestyle. This paper started from the hypothesis stating that the systematic practice of physical exercise under the form of fast pace walking, doubled by an adequate diet can contribute to one's weight loss and improve one's health, especially their blood pressure. This research represents a case study conducted on a over 50 years old male, former professional athlete. The experiment was based on two independent variables: nutritional and motor, with initial and final measurements. The final blood test results emphasize the beneficial role played by exercise and a balanced diet in regulating the human body. Basically, there was a shift from a pathological level to an almost normal state of health. The motor analysis shows that the optimal markers of energy consumption are, besides distance, the average pace and speed; thus, the authors are able to say that the exercise performed by the subject while fatigued did not have any effect on his body mass loss.
ELECTROCHEMICAL REDUCTION OF IONS IN METALS/ALLOYS AT A LIQUID CATHODE VERSUS A SOLID CHEMICALLY IDENTICAL ONE
OLEG B. GIRIN(*), DMYTRO G. KOROLYANCHUK
The purpose of this work was further experimental verification of the existence of the phenomenon of electrochemical phase formation in metals and alloys via a supercooled liquid state stage. It was assumed that replacing a solid cathode with a chemically identical liquid one would lead to higher electrochemical reduction rates of ions of the electrodepositing metal/alloy. The experimentation involved a cathode of Wood’s alloy having melting point at 68.5 °С. The electrocrystallization of some metals (Ni, Co, Fe) and alloys (Fe-Сr, Fe-Сr-Ni) was carried out at 65 °C with a solid cathode and at 75 °C with a liquid one. The experimentation revealed the anticipated electrochemical features of the interface between a cathode in its predetermined state of aggregation and the electrodepositing metal or alloy in full measure. It was concluded that the phenomenon of electrochemical phase formation in metals and alloys via supercooled liquid state stage is proved by the deionization acceleration in electrodepositing metals and alloys on replacing a solid cathode with a chemically identical liquid one.
