HERTA MÜLLER: THE PERFORMANCE ART OF POETRY AND INTRA-FAMILIAL EXILE
Marius Miheț
At first glance, the poetry and short prose written by Herta Müller appear to be the work of two distinct authors. Poetry functions as the expression of a mental state: the collage-texts are meant to convey the imponderability of the whole through the weight concentrated at a spatial extreme. As an expression of plurality, this technique does not combine rigor and lucidity in the manner of conventional art. Only with confessional poetry does the author succeed in creating a linguistic and technical spectacle – a form of performative art. In her short prose, the stage is her native village itself, where a patriarchal community, marginalized by historical stigma, symbolically murders its own daughter simply because she dared to articulate the truth in an atypical, literary process of exorcising consciences through satire and parody. Beyond the writer’s debut, all these literary works reveal an invisible struggle of extraordinary ferocity: the dissident’s war with the Securitate, a struggle in which everything is permitted for the political police – including the ostracization of the writer by her own family – while the author herself is granted no right other than that of hope, a hope inaugurated only with her debut in Germany. The dissident’s success disrupts the mechanisms of the political police, and survival comes to mean, for Herta Müller, the overcoming of her own internal resources of femininity and identity.
UN CAL TROIAN ÎN CETATEA LUI CEZAR PETRESCU?
Alexandra Butnaru
A Trojan Horse in Cezar Petrescu's Fortress? The passage from the Aeneid dedicated to the Trojan horse has become so well-known that it has been transposed into many other domains, becoming a symbol of deceit and traps. Cezar Petrescu adopts the model of the epic structure and incorporates it into his work. On one hand, he introduces the very symbol of internal ruin, explicitly highlighting it at the beginning, only to later conceal it under the veil of symbolism, making it even more dangerous. On the other hand, he retains the figure of an important character from the sequence, the father Laocoön. Transformed into the monk Filaret in his prose, he is endowed with the same powers of foreseeing the evil hidden behind a so-called good. As for his life, the Trojan horse seems to be represented by time. His preoccupation was to sketch an era that would serve as a testament to readers, but in the end, he finds himself in a race against time.
FĂNUȘ NEAGU ÎN DOSARELE SECURITĂȚII
Ana-Maria Ticu
Fănuș Neagu within the Files of “Securitate” ArchiveThe aim of this paper is to take a look back at a series of actions and influences of the Securitate – the political police of the communist regime – on Romanian writers. We will name some of those who have worked in the literary field in Romania at that time, but also the way they were surveilled, the way their files were fabricated with false information and how censorship influenced, limited or even annihilated their activity. We will also point out some general things on the way in which those literary figures has chosen to react and resist the harassment of the totalitarian regime. Recent researches show a growing interest in declassified information, both from the perspective of the literary and political communities.
IPOSTAZE ALE EULUI ÎN CREAȚIA ȘI ACTIVITATEA PĂUNESCIANĂ
Magdalena Chitic
Hypostases of the Self in Păunescu's Literary Creation and ActivityThis article offers a new perspective on the literary creation and activities of the poet Adrian Păunescu, particularly in identifying the various facets of his personality. Given the sheer number of his poetry volumes, as well as his activity during a historical period when trust was scarce and betrayal was ever-present, his multifaceted persona seems to have deliberately deceived the system. The superstar, the manipulator, the propagandist, the actor, and the patriot are just some of the aspects explored in this article. It also considers the views of other notable figures contemporary with the poet, as well as their perceptions of the different facets of his personality as they knew him. One conclusion might be that, in the poet's case, had it not been for certain mechanisms that facilitated his rise to prominence, nowadays he might be an unknown or forgotten name today.
„RÂNDURI-RÂNDURI”: LIVIUS CIOCÂRLIE ȚINÂND JURNAL, CITIND SCRISORI (II)
Daniel Cristea-Enache
Row by Row: Livius Ciocârlie Keeping a Journal, Reading LettersThe author of the journal has the ambition to keep an inventory and centralize everything, to point out every figure and every detail, insignificant apparently, of lives and existence. The obstinate narrator and subtle interpreter offer each other room for manifestation. Without the lengthy inventories and descriptions, the essay writer would lack the biographical references to insert his reflections, suspended in the general context, in a more moralizing formula than memoiristic. The idea pursued in Great Correspondences is that a great creation “consumes” the human being, consciously sacrificed by the creator, whom we rediscover in his letters or in his journal.
INFLUENȚE LIRICE ÎN STRUCTURA COMPOZIȚIONALĂ A TEATRULUI EMINESCIAN – DIDASCALIILE
Irina-Marina Savinoiu (Chelariu)
Lyrical Influences in the Composition Structure of the Eminescian Theater – DidascaliesEminescu's plays are recognized not necessarily for the lack of a clear dramatic structure (a point highlighted by critics) — a conclusion that can also be extracted from the absence of stage directions — but rather for the deliberate omission of certain didascalia or the inclusion of directions within the dramatic text itself. Thus, the novelty of Mihai Eminescu's theater lies precisely in the surprising blend of lyricism, which characterizes his entire literary creation.
NIEBLA DE MIGUEL DE UNAMUNO: DE LA NOVELA LA NIVOLA
Mihaela-Alina Chiribău-Albu
Niebla by Miguel de Unamuno: from Novela to NivolaThis paper analyses Miguel de Unamuno’s Niebla (1914) as a deliberate break with the conventions of the realist novel, a break signalled by the author’s own generic label, nivola. Focusing on narrative minimalism, dialogic construction and the text’s self-reflexive strategies, the article argues that Niebla turns the “story” into a laboratory for ontological inquiry: identity is staged as a process, freedom is tested against authorial determinism, and the reader is pushed into the role of co-creator of meaning. The study highlights the novel’s metafictional climax – the encounter between Augusto Pérez and the author – and reads the title’s recurrent motif (“mist”) as a multi-layered metaphor: everyday opacity, epistemic uncertainty, and the blurred boundary between fiction and reality. By placing creator, character and reader in a dynamic hierarchy of existence, Unamuno anticipates key concerns of twentieth-century modernist and postmodern narrative theory.
MITUL, UN INVARIANT TRANSMEDIAL. STUDIU DE CAZ
Nicoleta Popa Blanariu
Myth, a Transmedial Invariant. Case StudyIn previous papers, I proposed, defined, and illustrated with some examples the concept of transmedial invariant. Under this concept, I subsume those constants of discourse and imaginary that manifest themselves in various arts and artistic languages or, more generally, in different communication media. Essentially, I consider two types of transmedial invariants: discursive (pertaining to the discourse structure) and thematic (content-related). Particularly, myth could be seen as a transmedial invariant. In this paper, I apply the concept of transmedial invariant to the myth of Prometheus across time, cultural spaces and different media.

DISCURSUL PUBLICISTIC – DISPOZITIV DE MEDIERE CULTURALĂ
Florinela Floria
Publicistic discourse – a dispositive of cultural mediationOur paper focuses on the role of the press as a communication dispositive that is involved in the process of cultural mediation. Cultural mediation includes a wide variety of forms through which cultural information becomes more accessible to the general public. Communication devices imply a “communication contract” between the partners of the communication act. The analysis of the media dispositive will highlight the specifics of the “communication contract” from the perspective of adapting to a general audience the cultural contents broadcast by the local press in Bacău, remarkable for promoting the Romanian language and culture and the local Bacău cultural heritage.
